Retired FBI agent Bill Coulthard was killed in a car bomb, after it was detonated inside a Las Vegas parking lot. At the time, Coulthard was a well-known attorney and reputable businessman, who owned part of the area that the Horseshow Casino was built on. Although a $75,000 reward for offered for more information about the case, it remains unsolved to this day.
Nevertheless, FBI agents have their own theories on the case. They think that casino mogul Benny Binion was the mastermind behind the murder, because Coulthard refused renew Binion’s lease of the Horseshoe Casino.
Shady happenings have also occurred in the world of boxing. On 30th December 1970, top boxer Sonny Liston was found dead in his Vegas home. Whilst some think that Liston died from an overdose, there’s actually more than meets the eye to this one.
Speculations suggest that Liston got involved with a loan shark ring. Eventually, he was punished by his managers after he refused a fight with Chuck Wepner. Again, these are speculations, but it’s all very interesting.
